Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how SyncWind LTD, operating the Voltalix platform, uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use https://voltalix.com.
Voltalix currently uses only cookies and browser-storage technologies that are necessary to:
authenticate users and maintain active sessions;
protect user accounts and platform access;
support two-factor authentication;
remember the selected platform language;
provide the core functionality requested by users;
maintain the security and proper operation of the platform.
Voltalix does not currently use advertising, profiling, behavioural marketing, or third-party analytics cookies.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on a user's device by a web browser when a website or online application is accessed.
They may be used to recognise an active session, keep a user authenticated, remember essential preferences, and support the secure operation of a platform.
Voltalix also uses browser-based storage technologies, including localStorage. References to "cookies" in this policy include similar storage technologies where appropriate.
3. Cookies and storage technologies used by Voltalix
3.1 Authentication and session cookie
Name: x-gen-session
Provider: Voltalix
Purpose: Stores or supports the authentication session required to identify the signed-in user and provide access to protected platform functions
Type: Strictly necessary
Duration: 24 hours
Voltalix uses a JSON Web Token, or JWT, as part of its authentication system.
The platform does not currently offer a separate "Remember me" function. The authentication session expires after 24 hours unless it is terminated earlier through logout, account-security action, or another technical event.
3.2 Language preference
Voltalix stores the user's selected language through:
a first-party cookie;
browser localStorage.
These technologies allow the platform to display the interface in the language selected by the user during future navigation.
Technology: Language-preference cookie
Purpose: Remembers the selected platform language
Type: Necessary preference
Duration: Until expiration or deletion
Technology: localStorage language value
Purpose: Remembers and applies the selected platform language
Type: Necessary preference
Duration: Until deleted by the user, browser, or platform
The exact identifier used for the language cookie or localStorage entry may depend on the current platform configuration.
4. Two-factor authentication
Voltalix supports two-factor authentication as an account-security feature.
The platform does not use a separate cookie exclusively for two-factor authentication. The authentication state is managed through the primary session and the platform’s internal security mechanisms.
5. Local storage
Voltalix uses browser localStorage only for necessary platform functions, including storing the user’s language preference.
Information stored in localStorage remains on the device until it is:
deleted by the user;
cleared through browser settings;
removed by the browser;
replaced or deleted by the platform.
Voltalix does not currently use localStorage for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioural profiling.
6. Why consent is not requested
Voltalix currently uses only technical cookies and storage technologies that are necessary to provide services explicitly requested by the user or to support essential platform preferences.
Under the applicable Italian rules, prior consent is not generally required for technical cookies that are strictly necessary for navigation, authentication, or delivery of a requested service. Users must still receive clear information about their use. A consent banner is not required where a website uses only technical cookies, although an appropriate notice or cookie policy must be made available.
The same assessment depends on the purpose of other browser identifiers, such as localStorage: technical identifiers used only for necessary functions may be treated differently from non-technical tracking technologies.
7. No analytics, advertising, or profiling cookies
Voltalix does not currently use cookies or similar technologies for:
targeted advertising;
behavioural advertising;
commercial profiling;
cross-site tracking;
audience measurement through third-party analytics providers;
tracking users across unrelated websites or services.
No non-essential tracking technology should be activated unless an appropriate consent mechanism is implemented.
8. Third-party cookies
Voltalix does not currently use third-party services that place cookies or tracking technologies through the platform.
External websites accessed through links from Voltalix may operate independently and may use their own cookies. Those websites are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
9. Managing cookies and browser storage
Users can view, delete, or block cookies through their browser settings. They can also clear information stored in localStorage.
Blocking may cause
sign the user out of the platform;
prevent access to protected account areas;
interfere with authentication;
reset the selected language;
affect the proper operation of platform functions.
Deleting the x-gen-session cookie will generally end the authenticated session and require the user to sign in again.
10. Data security
Voltalix applies technical and organisational measures designed to protect authentication information and essential browser-storage data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.
The session cookie and JWT should be configured and transmitted using appropriate security controls, including secure encrypted connections.
11. Changes to this Cookie Policy
SyncWind LTD may update this Cookie Policy when:
the platform’s technical configuration changes;
new cookies or storage technologies are introduced;
the purposes or retention periods change;
new service providers are integrated;
legal or regulatory requirements change.
Any updated version will be published on Voltalix with a revised "Last updated" date.
Should Voltalix introduce analytics, advertising, profiling, or other non-essential technologies in the future, those technologies will not be activated until any legally required consent mechanism has been implemented.
